Day 49 – Breakfast, Lunch AND Dinner..

Blog, Photos — By on November 9, 2012 7:38 am

And that’s a first for this trip too!!

We have spent a whole day chilling. And what fun it is! There is little option whilst travelling on a houseboat. It is a gentle reminder that in today’s world we seldom make time to chill for a day. We have had book readers, photo fiddlers, texters, needleworkers, (George ripped his shorts asunder on yesterdays run….probably kept the lions at bay!!…the thorn trees are serious in Africa!)…bloggers, diary writers, fishermen, musicians, (Nick is playing the blues as I write…shades of a Mississippi paddlesteamer!), sunworshippers, and athletes ( at the close of day George ran a keepfit class, using the skipper on the boxing pads!).

Mississippi Blues

Oh, and for those of you in the wet, cold, grey, damp, dismal, dreary Autumn, you may be interested to hear that here, it is gloriously hot! So hot in fact that it melts the tar on the road. Yesterday it hit a blistering 43 degrees when we rode past a herd of elephants by the side of the road (one of whom charged the bikes after we had pulled to a halt) and it felt like true Africa. A far cry from the New Forest where people get out of their cars in fleeces to feed the ponies!  J

Well done George, I like your style. I think I’ve been going too easy on the ladies during their circuits sessions.

A break day????how sweet, or should I say how soft! In my day this would’ve never happened.

Glad to hear that you are sparing a thought for us back here in the Forest!
