Day 44 – Tigers
Blog — By Buspass on November 4, 2012 5:44 pmA bush day in Mana Pools National Park. Lions mating, lions hunting, lions chasing baboons up trees, big crocs, ellies in abundance, buffalo, eland, and the usual impala, zebra, bush buck. There are no giraffe as they cannot get down to this part of the Rift Valley, the sides are too steep.
Half the group went fishing for tiger fish in the late afternoon and regaled us later with stories of battles and glory as they fought with the Zambezis most famous fish. Fishermens tales or fact we shall never know!!
The lodge is delightfully situated on the river next to a large expanse of ‘adrenaline grass’…head high thick grass where all manner of dangerous things hang out…always a lively place to walk!
One more drive in the morning, a jog on the airstrip, then off on the canoes. J
