Day Ten
Blog — By Buspass on October 2, 2012 1:13 pmA day off in the World Heritage site of the Baviaanskloof today (Africaans for BaboonGorge).
We had an interesting walk through a canyon in the morning topped off by a climb up to a remote cave that had not been explored before. Sadly instead of cave paintings we found the only recent occupant had been a porcupine.
We took a game drive in the afternoon and saw orxy and kudu. We had one dramatic moment when one orxy panicked and ran out across the front of the car and hit the fencing at full lick. She got entangled in the wire and it took quite some effort with wire clippers and the ranger holding the horns before we managed to free her. After some recovery period she limped off.
