Day Twenty – George Returns
Blog — By Buspass on October 11, 2012 10:00 pmA relatively quiet day today. We kicked off with a walk through semi tropical forest in Hluhluwe Game Park, the highlights being two very rare sightings. The first was a clear look at the elusive Green Malkoha (or green coucal) and the second was the extremely timid Trogon. We then departed midday for the Umfolozi National Park, one of the oldest in SA, leaving our motorbikes behind. Whilst driving to our tented camp buried deep in the park (a 3 hour drive) we chanced across 3 white rhino just metres from the vehicle but very relaxed. We are now settled in this very remote area and had dinner around the camp fire listening to hyenas and tales of daring-do from the guides. Tomorrow we are off on foot for the whole day with a man with a big gun!! Oh and George pitched up this afternoon. More tomorrow J.
