Day 45 – Crocodile came knocking.
Blog — By Buspass on November 5, 2012 5:48 pmThe mornings game drive was uneventful so we finished up chatting about the names of the local guides we have known…Super, Shoes, Dollar, Brighton, Exxon, Rambo, Bono, Champion, Lawyer, Lovemore, Blessed, Damage….they have more imagination here than Posh and Becks! We livened things up later with a splendid run through the bush with the Landrover close behind…the worry being not lions, but elephants emerging suddenly from the bush, a real risk. George, Nick, myself, Gregg and Tony covered around 12k.
The afternoon was quite a different affair. Canoeing! We were chased by hippos, we were charged by a bull elephant on the bank…to be more precise Charles was the a target of his ire, and finally, and most scary, Sam and Tim’s canoe was hit hard by a large croc when we passed quite close to his nesting site…we were ahead and we thought from the noise that there had been a capsize. Heyho all ended well and we are now downing the second G and T!! J.

sounds like a nice croc handbag for Effie this x-mas! did you strangle it with bare hands? Honestly, I would have died, if I had a collision with a croc in a canoe!!!

oh dear! I have grey hairs for having been charged by ellies, hippo and a piton on a canoe trip with the family years ago ….. not sure what happened to Gobby’s hairs today they are already silver!!!!
Be careful chaps!
