Day 29 – Rocking up to Rocktail
Blog — By Buspass on October 20, 2012 5:19 pmThe day was supposed to commence with a morning game drive but we all awoke to a torrential thunderstorm. 50mm in 2 hours. So we all sat there at 5.45am admiring the storm and sipping coffee.
Logistics needed a little jiggling as the local dirt landing strip became a sea of mud. So we took a drive through the Kruger to a tarmac strip.
Sadly at midday the group split into 3. The bikers back to Rocktail, a few to Azura in Mozambique where we hook up in 5 days time and the majority back to Joburg for the trip back to the UK.
We are now settled in Rocktail awaiting a challenging day tomorrow…..380k, sand, dirt and tar roads, and one border crossing into Mozambique and a ferry. Not to mention the weather…many parts of South Africa are under water. Sams bike and Nicks bike are back and repaired so fingers crossed for a calm period!!
